Product Engineer (front-end)

📍 Ghent, on-site @ Wintercircus / hybrid (3 days office, 2 days remote)

Companion.energy helps large enterprises cut energy costs and carbon emissions by steering their energy use in sync with market prices and renewables. We're a VC-backed startup with real traction: €2M raised, 20+ customers, and growing fast.

We're looking for a front-end product engineer to own our React-based front-end and help shape the future of our platform. If you love UX, data-heavy apps, and want to be early in a high-impact product, let’s talk.

• Serious startup, early stage — 8-person team, €2M raised, real industrial customers
• Real product, real users — already in use daily at large energy consumers
• Front-end ownership — lead the development and direction of the interface
• Product design matters — you’ll shape both UX and features

• Build and lead our React front-end
• Translate complex data into intuitive workflows
• Work with founders, customer success and backend to design and deliver features
• Shape UX and product design in close loop with user feedback

• 3–5 years of front-end/product development experience
• Strong React skills and familiarity with modern front-end tooling
• A keen eye for detail and a knack for UX
• Creative, hands-on builder who thinks in flows
• Clear communicator, comfortable in a small fast-moving team

• Python experience
• Experience with time-series data or energy systems
• Interest in charts, visualization libraries, and data-heavy UIs

• A short intro call to get to know each other
• A practical case or scenario to understand how you think and build
• Follow-up conversations with team members and founders
